Background: Dental caries often occurs in the children group aged 8-9 years old because they lack of oral health knowledge. The knowledge can be given through oral health dissemination using the media of flip chart or leaflets. Research Objective: To know the difference between oral health dissemination using the media of flip chart and leaflets on the dental and oral health knowledge level of children aged 8-9 years in SDN Kasihan Bantul. Research Method: The type of this research was quasi experimental with non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of this research were 120 children aged 8-9 years in SDN Kasihan Bantul. The data analysis used paired sample t-test to know the difference on the knowledge level from pre-test and post-test. The independent sample t-test to know the difference on the knowledge level using the media of flip chart and leaflets. Research Results: The result of paired sample t-test shows that p value 0,000 (p < 0,05) meaning there is a difference on the knowledge level from pre-test and post-test using the media of flip chart and leaflets. The result of independent sample t-test shows that the p value 0,009 (p < 0,05) meaning there is a difference on knowledge level between post test of media flip chart and leaflets. Conclusion: There is a difference between oral health dissemination using the media of flip chart and leaflets on the dental and oral health knowledge level of children aged 8-9 years in SDN Kasihan Bantul that is the media of flip chart is more effective to increase the knowledge on dental and oral health.
