RELEVANSI KONSEP TA’DIB MENURUT AL-ATTAS TERHADAP PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM KURIKULUM 2013
Abstract
AL-ATTAS’ CONCEPT OF TA'DIB AND ITS RELEVANCE TO THE CONCEPT OF CHARACTER EDUCATION IN THE 2013 CURRICULUM
This study aims to: 1) explore the concept of ta'dib according to al-Attas, 2) to investigate the concept of character education in the 2013 curriculum, 3) to determine the relevance of al-Attas’s concept of ta'dib to the concept character education in the 2013 curriculum.
This study is a research with qualitative approach that does not use statistical data or numerical calculations. This study is a library research which means it obtains data from written sources, mainly from books. To test the data credibility, this study applies triangulation strategy. The gathered data are analyzed using the method of data reduction, data display and finally deriving conclusion based on the data. In presenting the data, this study employs comperatiFe analytical methods with both inductive and deductive line of reasoning.
The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship or relevance between the concept of ta'dib and the character education in 2013 curriculum, namely 1) the process of internalizing adab according to the concept of ta'dib has similarities with the objectives of character education, namely to transform the students into the people of character and nobility, 2) the aspects of soul and mind as the main domain of adab has similarities with the aspects of spiritual, social, scientific and skills competencies in the character education of 2013 curriculum, 3) learning and teaching environment has noticeable impacts on the intellectual and cultural intelligence which are essential to obtaining the goals of both the concept of adab and the character education of 2013 curriculum, 4) both concepts develop values such as divinity or religiosity, honesty, social care, environmental care and responsibility.
