SPIRITUALITAS, DEPRESI DAN KUALITAS HIDUP PADA PASIEN KANKER DI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM DAERAH PROVINSI NTB
Abstract
Background: Spirituality can give positive impact in cancer
patients to find meaning and purpose in the life, but health service
is still focus in physical problems. Because of that, the data about
spirituality in Indonesia has not been comprehensive
Objective: This study aims to know about the correlation of
spirituality to depression and quality of life in cancer patients.
Method: The research used descriptive analytic with cross
sectional approach. The research has been taken total sampling
conducted in March to April 2018 with amount of sample about
100 cancer patients who are treated in the Public Hospital Province
of West Nusa Tenggara. Data were collected using SWB
instruments to assess spirituality, BDI II to assess depression and
EORTC QLQ-C30 to assess quality of life in cancer patients.
Results: The Research showed that the average of religious well
being rate was higher than the existential well being. The statistical
test is using pearson test, it showed that spirituality was
significantly associated to depression and quality of life with p
value 0.01< 0.05.
Conclusion: Spirituality can be negative impact to depression and
positive impact to quality of life, so the data about spirituality can
be attention.
