      Abstract
      Background: Lesions level V is caries and non-caries spots found in the one-third gingival of the teeth’s facial and lingual surface. The treatment for lesions level V is by restoring those teeth using restoring materials. The kinds of restoring materials are Conventional GIC, RMGIC, and Compomer. These restoring materials have some drawbacks; one of them is the occurrence of micro leakage. Micro leakage may occur due to several factors, such as the acid which comes from carbonated beverages. Research Objective: To find out the effects of carbonated beverages on micro leakage on dental lesions level V using Conventional Glass Ionomer Cement, Compomer, and Resin-modified Glass Ionomer Cement. Research Methodology: This is an experimental laboratory research. Samples was divided into 3 groups, each group consists of 9 samples whose buccals had been prepared. Group I was placed using conventional GIC, Group II using RMGIC, and Group III using Compomer. The samples were then soaked in Coca Cola and stored in the incubator for 7 days. The Coca Cola was changed once every 24 hours. After 7 days, the samples were soaked in methylene blue liquid for 24 hours, and then the micro leakage was measured using stereomicroscope. Research Results: The three restoring groups whose micro leakages were tested shows significant difference after being soaked in Coca Cola. Conventional GIC shows the highest micro leakage and compomer shows the lowest. Conclusion: There is an effect from carbonated beverages on micro leakage on lesions level V using Conventional GIC, RMGIC, and Compomer. Micro leakages, from the higest to the lowest are Conventional GIC, RMGIC, and Compomer.
