      Abstract
      Background: Family support is a source of motivation for diabetic foot ulcers. Family support can include information support, emotional support, instrumental support or assessment support. Family support can also affect the adherence of diabetic foot wound patients to therapeutic regimens. Objective: This study aimed to explore the experiences of diabetic foot wound patients related to family support Method: This research is a phenomenological qualitative research. Selection of respondents used purposive sampling method, which amounted to 6 respondents. Data collection uses semi-structured interview methods. Results: The results of this study indicated that diabetic foot wound patients at the Kitamura Pontianak clinic get the form through direct and indirect. Patients also have expectations and realities that are reflected such as the fact of support and feelings of anxiety felt. Support provided by families and the environment in a variety of ways such as information provided by the family has an impact on the changes in the respondents. Conclusion: Patients at the Kitamura Pontianak clinic have family support such as direct and indirect support, and have support expectations and the reality of support that affects respondents because of the family and supportive environment, xiv information received to cause behavior changes in the respondents. Suggestion: Health services can provide maximum support to respondents and families. This study can be extended to studies such as social, spiritual and internal aspects of respondents.
