Sitting and standing static for a long time and lack of exercise can cause pain in the lower back and lack of joint flexibility. One way to reduce pain and increase flexibility due to Low Back Pain (LBP) is stretching in a bowing and kneeling motion. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of stretching on reducing pain intensity and increasing flexibility in students who experienced LBP at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This study uses a quasy-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test with control group design. The sample in this study were 36 respondents, 18 respondents for intervention group and 18 respondents for control group, with sampling technique that is accidental sampling. Data analysis using T Test. The results showed that the p value <0.05 was that there was a decrease in pain (p value 0.006) and an increase in flexibility (p value 0.011) between the two groups before and after stretching. The conclusion of this study is stretching has an effect on decreasing pain intensity and increasing flexibility in LBP students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
