      Abstract
      Transmission line plays an important role in the electric power system to distibute electricity from power plant to substation. The continuity on distribution of electical energy is needed to support power system reliability. Distance relays is one of the main protection for either high voltage line transmission 150 kv, distance relay serves to isolate fault that happened so the continuity of supplay to consummers is maintained. Distance relay work by deviding scope of protection zone into three zone that is: zone 1, zone 2, and zone 3, in the research, the calculatioan of disance relay setting calculation was done manually and then this calculation compared with the data setting in the Bantul- Godean- Kentungan Substation with parameters be calculate that is: resistance of wire conductor, inductance of line transmission, so get the line impedance and then using to determine the impedance setting zone 1, zone 2, and zone 3. From the data already analiyzed, ratio of distance relay setting value applied at Bantul- Godean- Kentungan substation with manual calculation setting value have the biggest difference 2,16% from the data settings, and then at Godean-Kentungan Substation have the biggest difference 2,07% from the data settings, if reviewed with the standard PLN (SPLN T5.002-1:2010) about conductor control and protection that calculation still qualified to operation and feasible to use, because the set impedance difference limit a maximum of 10%, and relay performance is still good and feasible to handle the interference
