      Abstract
      low cost apartment is building which builded in an environtment, the low cost apartment have risk occurrences fire disaster. This case based on fact there are main source of fire caused, which caused high voltage electric, electronic stuff, gas tube, and the furniture which can make fire disaster in the building. The purpose of this research is to find out how maintaining building and management protection system in an attempt to preventatif fire disaster to female University Residence of Yogyakarta. University Residence of Yogyakarta has 192 rooms. In this research carried out with the observations directly toward facilities fire protection based on Minister of Public Works Regulation Number 26 of 2008 and Building access planning procedures and environment access for the prevention of fire hazards in building houses and buildings (BSN, 2000a). Based on observation of the responsibility of building owner/occupants obtain “low” score. Based on observation of the building maintaining obtain “good” score and for the observation of the . Based on observation of the no smoking area obtain “very good” score. Based on the observation of places identification obtain “very good” score. Based on the observation of middle path obtain “very low” score. Based on the observation of stairs path obtain “very bad” score. Based on the observation of flammable materials obtain “good” score.
