HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENDIDIKAN DAN PEMAHAMAN ORANG TUA TERHADAP EMOSIONAL ANAK DENGAN PENINGKATAN PRESTASI AKADEMIK PADA SISWA KELAS 11 SMK MUHAMADIYAH WONOSARI
Abstract
The research aimed at: 1) learning the correlation between parents level of education and academic achievement of Grade 11 students of SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari Gunungkidul Municipality. 2) Learning the correlation between parents ability to understand the emoticon of students with academic achievement among Grade 11 students of SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari Gunungkidul Municipality. 3) Learning the correlation between level of education and parents ability to understand students emotion with academic achievement among Grade 11 students of SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari Gunungkidul Municipality.
The research used correlation with descriptive statistics and double regression data analysis. The population of the research was all students of SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari Gunungkidul Municipality in grade 11 second semester batch 2017/2018. The number of the students was 300 and the samples were 100 students. The data collecting method were questionnaire, interview, and documentation.
The research indicates positive and significant correlation between level of education and the academic achievement of Grade 11 students of SMK Muhammadiyah Wonosari Gunungkidul Municipality respectively without other factors influence. It means, first the higher the parents education was the higher the students academic achievement became. It was proven by the result of r count which was bigger than r table which was 0,810>0,392. Second, there was positive and significant correlation respectively between parents emotional understanding and students academic achievement proven by r count which was bigger than r table 0,806>0,329. Third, at the same time education and parents emotional understanding had positive and significant correlation toward students academic achievement proven by correlation index 0,857>0,329. Fourth, independently, parents education provided effective contribution of 7,829 % toward academic achievement and parents emotional understanding provided effective contribution of 65,576% toward academic achievement.
