Pulp capping direct and pulp capping indirect are aimed to preserving vitality and function of the pulp. The way to do the direct pulp capping is put liner material directly on the pulp, indication for direct pulp capping are caries that involved pulp and trauma. Material for direct pulp capping that often use in dentistry is calcium hidroxide, the function of calcium hydroxide is to make reparative dentin and treat vitality of the pulp. Evaluation of pulp capping direct can be seen radiographically. Radiograph need during preoperative treatment to evaluate the case, in the process of treatment is needed for verification of the procedures involved in treatment, and pasca operative radiographs are needed to evaluate the results of treatment after endodontic therapy. This research use observasional methode with evaluation the radiographic results of direct pulp capping use calcium hydroxide hard setting in dental hospital Univercity Muhammadiyah of Yogyakarta. The research was conducted using secondary data, medical records and radiographic data of patients who have taken care with pulp capping direct for 5 years ago frm 2011 up to 2015. Assessment in the evaluation of radiographic examination after endodontic treatment is categorized into three categories, failed with a score of 0, doubted category with a score of 1, and category successful with score 2. The results of the radiograph evaluation direct pulp capping at the Dental Hospital UMY found that successful are 36,70%, doubted are 46,70% and failed are 16,70%.
