      Abstract
      The increasing number of the elderly population each year as well as the complexity of diseases in elderly due to aging process, cause an increase of health problems in elderly. Spesific treatment in elderly enables the emergence of inappropriate use of medicines in drug labels that have been registered with an authorized drug regulatory, which is called off-label drug use. This study aims to determine the percentage of off-label drug use in elderly patients at Jogja Hospital. This research is an descriptive research with data collected retrospectively. Data was collected from 318 medical records of elderly patients hospitalized in Jogja Hospital period 2016. The identification of off-label drug use is made based on indication comparison with PIONas, drug brochures, and journals related to off-label use of drugs. Result of this research showed that from 318 sample there were 2,272 prescribed drugs. The most frequent disease diagnosed was cardiovascular diseases (17,29%). The most prescribed drug was cardiovascular drugs (22,32%). The result of off-label drugs identified indicated that there were (1,24%) prescribed off-label indication drugs which consisted of Oxcarbazepine (3%), Pregabalin (3%), Ranitidine (14%), Proton Pump Inhibitor (60%), and Sucralfat (21%).
