Relations between defense diplomacy between Indonesia and Japan have been carried out for decades and have continued to increase in the past decade. The increase in defense diplomacy in the past decade has been greatly influenced by the strengthening of defense cooperation between countries to respond to multidimensional threats and challenges, including non-traditional threats. Unfortunately, such developments have not been followed by activities to evaluate Indonesia's defense diplomacy policy. In the past, defense diplomacy activities only seemed to complement Indonesian diplomacy. But in the present world conditions, defense diplomacy has played a much bigger role and can no longer be seen as a mere complement. Because defense diplomacy is an integral part of Indonesian diplomacy as a whole.
