      Abstract
      This study aimed to know the effect of the hormone gibberellin on seed germination and growth of kayu kuku (Pericopsis mooniana) seedlings, to determine the optimal concentration of hormone gibberellin on seed germination and growth of kayu kuku seedlings, to determine the optimal soaking time on seed germination and growth of kayu kuku seedlings, and to know the difference between scarification and hormone treatment for seed germination and growth of kayu kuku seedlings. Experimental design used was completely randomized design (CRD) in two stages of research, i.e. seed germination for the first stage and seedling growth for the second stage. Gibberellin hormone concentration used consisted of 6 concentrations namely 0 ppm, 5 ppm, 10 ppm, 15 ppm, 20 ppm and 25 ppm while the time tested consisted of 2 kinds of 12 hours and 24 hours. In addition, scarification was also tested as a comparison in this study. The results showed that application of gibberellin hormone affect the germination and seedling growth. The concentration of 25 ppm was the optimal concentration for seed germination and growth of kayu kuku seedlings. Soaking time did not significantly affect seed germination and growth of kayu kuku seedling. Scarification has no affect on seed germination and growth of kayu kuku seedlings.
