Abstract
Background: There are many renal failure patients who experiences excess fluid volume as their incompliance in managing fluid intake. One of the effects of their incompliance is cardiovascular diseases which can lead to death of 47% of renal failure patients.
Purpose: The research was aimed at knowing the relationship between compliance fluid intake management to the blood pressure of chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at PKU Muhammadiyah UNIT II Hospital, Yogyakarta.
Method: The research applied correlational method and cross-sectional approach. There were 70 respondents in the research determined by total sample technique. The data was analyzed by using Pearson correlation test. In addition, the instrument of the research was compliance questionnaire of liquid intake management of chronic renal failure patients and tension meters.
Result: The mean score of liquid management intake compliance of the respondents was 10.78 and systolic blood pressure was 166.28 mmHg. Meanwhile, diastolic pressure was 94.4 mmHg. Based on statistic bivariate analysis using Pearson correlation test, p value was 0.0495 for systolic and 0.378 for diastole.
Conclusion: There is no correlation between liquid intake management compliance to the blood pressure of renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at PKU Muhammadiyah unit II Yogyakarta Hospital
