      Abstract
In the development of the era of electricity, it was needed for life. PT. PLN (Persero) strives to supply electrical energy as optimally as possible with the increase in electricity consumers. In the process of distributing electrical energy from the generator to the consumer there are many disturbances. Increasing the amount of load in a power system will certainly cause an increase in the presentation of disturbances. One form of interference that can occur in an electric power system is a short circuit, which causes a surge in current called short circuit current. So that it cannot be avoided. Increasing industrial growth has an impact on increasing load growth in the electric power system. The load growth is followed by increasing reactive power due to inductive loads on the load bus as well as on the channel which causes increased reactive power usage. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the study in planning the installation of bank capacitors to overcome inductive loads. In a distribution system, if a network does not have a reactive source in the area around the load, all reactive load needs are borne by the substation supplied from the generator at the power plant, so that the reactive current flows to the network resulting in decreased power factor, voltage drop, and increasing power losses.
