      Abstract
Kraton (palace) Yogyakarta is a representation of da'wah in the field of power whose existence is still recognized today. The Sultan is a king's title that reflects the identity of a leader. But on April 30, 2015, the title changed. Changing titles refers to cultural changes in the Kraton Yogyakarta. The palace culture itself is one of the Islamic preaching media in Yogyakarta. Therefore, if the culture changes, there will also be a shift in da'wah. These changes encourage researchers to examine the cultural changes in the Kraton Yogyakarta with qualitative methods that focus on the process of cultural change related to Islamic da'wah after a title change. Also, this research focuses on the factors causing these cultural changes. The results concluded that cultural change is driven by several factors, namely interests, and cultural contacts. Cultural changes produce several new cultural or policy products, including some traditional ceremonial arrangements which should be attended by rayi dalem (the Sri Sultan's younger siblings) but replaced by the Sultan's daughters. Another policy is the Pawiyatan which must be for the courtiers but now can be followed by all citizens. Beside, correspondence activities or the mention of the Sultan's title in the palace must match the new title.
