Pulp capping is endodontic treatment to maintain pulp vitality. Pulp capping material must have the component to stimulate of reparative dentin formation,anti bacterial activity, attached to the dentine and restorative materials. Indirect pulp capping use calcium hydroxide hard setting type can make to dentin caries can be improved, so can not injure the pulp. The outcome of indirect pulp capping can be seen from clinical examination was conducted by cold testing, test percussion, palpation, and subjective examination from the patient. The purpose of this study was to determine the clinical evaluation of success indirect pulp capping with calcium hydroxide hard setting at the Dental Hospital Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Clinical methods evaluation of indirect pulp capping at the Dental Hospital Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta using secondary data of the medical records of patients who had taken care indirect pulp capping during the years 2010-2011. The results showed that there are successful treatment of indirect pulp capping seen from clinical evaluation before and after treatment. Before treatment indirect pulp capping, the number of samples that included good categories 215 respondents (34.8%), enough categories 349 respondents (56.5%), less categories 54 respondents (8.7%), and bad categories 0% with a total of 618 respondents (100%). After treatment indirect pulp capping, patients recall by the operator to control. Case which includes good categories at 1-4 weeks are 479 respondents (93.6%), 5-8 weeks are 202 respondents (94.4%), and> 8 weeks are 287 respondents (91,4%). The average rate of successful treatment are included into either category amounted to 93.1%.
