SPACE MAINTAINER WITH DOUBLE TUBE COMBINATION AND INCLINED BITE PLANE, TO MAINTAIN SPACE AND TO CORRECT CROSS BITE ANTERIOR IN PAEDIATRIC PATIENT
Abstract
Removable Space Maintainer (SM) is an appliance to maintain the space that caused by premature loss. The conventional space maintainer still has the weakness especially to limit the lateral growth of jaws to lateral aspect. This case aims to show the report of the usage of space maintainer with the combination of double tube toward the lateral growth of jaws, and combine inclined bite plane to correct crossbite anterior. This case to report paediatric patients with removable space maintainer appliance using double tube combination and inclined bite plane. The success of this treatment was evaluated by lateral movement of the double tube especially the increase of tube space (in mm) and decrease bite plane anterior. The measurement was on the space of inter molar or inter canine before and after the treatment and slicing anterior teeth. This case report was longitudinal time with 5 month observation and many time control. This case performed that the usage or removable space maintainer appliance with the combination of double tube and inclined bite plane, in Dental Hospital of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta achieved the success result.
