      Abstract
This study was made as part of the application of “Teknologi Pembangkit Tenaga Listrik” (the electronica power technology) and “Perencanaan Sistem Kelistrikan Industri” (Industrial Electrical System Planning) courses at undergraduate electrical engineering in Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. It calculates and designs solar power generation systems by following the scientific rules of renewable energy, especially solar energy technology and electricity. The general scheme used in this solar power plant system planning is based on data and location needs. Location data in the form of need or limits on the use of electric loads and solar irradiation has taken from secondary data. Based on the data result and the calculation will be carried out generation capacity planning, component specification selection, system technical design, and economic analysis. The results of calculations and analysis on the planning of the Solar Power Plant system in this study were made to facilitate electricity needs for 150 houses and 34 public facilities. From the results of calculations with the total electricity needs of 845,591.7 Wh / day that can be served with this Solar Power Plant. In planning this system, it is made using a DC coupling off-grid system configuration using 723 solar panels with a capacity of 330 Wp, 72 1156 Ah capacity batteries with a 48 V system, 1 central inverter with a capacity of 250 kW and 40 solar charge controllers each has an output of 100 A. The cost of investing in the Solar Power Plant is Rp.9, 682,387,073, maintenance costs and operations are Rp.234, 080,000 per year and the cost of 2 times the change of battery in the 9th and 18th years is Rp.2, 061,545,904.
