      Abstract
A research aims to learn the physiological response of growth and yield of rice in various varieties, to learn the effect of SRI and Conventional intermittent irrigation on the physiology of growth and yield of rice plants, knowing interactions between varieties and irrigation types on the physiology of growth and yield of rice plants. This research was conducted in August to December 2018 on agricultural land at the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This study used experimental methods carried out in the field with factorial design of strip plot arranged in Complete Randomized Block Design (CRBD) with 4 replications, namely on SRI irrigation and Conventional irrigation with Ciherang, Inpari, Membramo, and Rojolele varieties. The results showed that in superior rice varieties, Membramo variety was the best variety which is equivalent to the physiological response produced by local varieties namely Rojolele, based on the results of the study, conventional irrigation give better results than SRI irrigation, there is give an interaction between conventional irrigation with Membramo varieties in the SLW (Specific Leaf Weight) and conventional irrigation with Inpari varieties on grain weight per clump.
