      Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the distribution, morphological characteristics, and plant kinship of kepel (Stelechocarpus burahol (Bl.) Hook. f. & Thomson.) Which grew in Kulon Progo district. This research was conducted in Kulon Progo district, UMY in Vitro Culture Laboratory, and UMY soil laboratory conducted in December 2018 to February 2019. This study used a survey method with purposive sampling technique. The total sample used is 36 kepel plants spread in Kulon Progo district. In 36 plants, distribution maps were made, identifying morphological characters, and analyzed using the NTSYS (Numerical Taxonomic and Multivariate System) program. The results showed that there were morphological variations in stem color, number of branches, leaf blade shape, leaf tip shape, leaf base shape, leaf color, leaf length, leaf width, and leaf stem length were identified. Kepel plants in Kulon Progo Regency are grouped into 7 groups based on the similarity coefficient of 0.60 which is group 1 (9 plants), group 2 (18 plants), group 3 (2 plants), group 4 (2 plants), group 5 (2 plants) ), group 6 (1 plant), and group 7 (2 plants).
