      Abstract
Background: Hypertension disease is a challenge for global health because of its high prevalence. Research studies about the effort for patients with hypertension is always developed, and one of which is with non-pharmacological therapy, i.e. back massage and Al-Qur’an recitation. The aim of the research is to find out the influence of back massage and Al-Qur’an recitation towards hemodynamic status on patients with hypertension. Research Method: The design of the research used quasi experiment with pretest- posttest control groups. The sample was 81 respondents divided into three groups. Group 1 with intervention was given with back massage and Al-Qur’an recitation, group 2 was given with back massage and group 3, the controlled one, only got therapy of standard medicine. Result: Paired t-test and Wilcoxon test for back massage and Al-Qur’an recitation show significance value on the status of Sistole Diastole, MAP and Pulse with p value = < 0.05. The Respiration status show p value = > 0.05. Meanwhile, Kruskal test show that there is a difference between the status of Sistole and Pulse on the three groups with p value = 0.05 and there is no difference between the status of Diastole blood pressure, MAP and Respiration with p value = > 0.05. Conclusion: Back massage and Al-Qur’an recitation statistically decrease hemodynamic status on Sistole Diastole, MAP, and Pulse status, but they do not decrease it on Respiration status. Back massage and Al-Qur’an recitation influences more on Sistole and Pulse status
