Conjunctiva and cornea are the part of eyes that often interact with surrounding environment. It cause conjunctiva and cornea more at risk to be trought an inflammation or conjunctivitis. In this case, the most conjunctivitis patients is children. Then parents behavior is very important due to the lack of children awareness and responsibility to his own health related to conjunctivitis. So there is a need to have a research about parents behavior against conjunctivitis disease on child. The purpose of this research was to know about parents behavior in handling conjunctivitis and their behavior in preventing conjunctivitis on child. This research uses the quantitative descriptive method by cross sectional design. The subjects of this research is parents in Potrobayan Srihardono Pundong Bantul, with a population of 246 people and 71 people as the sample. The study is done in June 2016. The population of the research is all parents who lives in Potrobayan Srihardono Pundong Bantul and the sample is all parents that are willing to become respondents and have children who experienced conjunctivitis. The results of the study concluded that there are 58 people (81.7 %)from 71 that have good prevention behavior and 13 people ( 18.3 % ) have enough prevention behavior. As for handling conjuctivitis behavior found that 53 people (74.6 % ) from 71 have enough handling behavior, 14 people ( 22.5 % ) have good handling behavior, and 2 people ( 2.8 % ) have less handling behavior. The most of the parents behavior in preventing conjunctivitis to their children in Potrobayan Srihardono Pundong Bantul is good and the parents behavior in handling conjunctivitis disease on child in potrobayan srihardono pundong bantul is mainly enough.
