      Abstract
Silane as interface material that can be used to make bonding between two materials. Dental materials can be bonded, if silane was put as interface between these material. Silane can be called as coupling agent. The silane most commonly applied in dentistry is γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane. γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane as monofunctional that consist of one Si atom with three alkoxy groups in the molecule. Chemical reaction of silanes have two step. There are hydrolysis and condensation. Silane material can be used to increase mechanical properties of dental restoration, e.g., fiber reinforced composite (FRC), ceramic, filler material, and metal adhesion with composite.
