      Abstract
Technological advances have accelerated innovation in the field of business with serious implications on free market competition and on governance. The increasing clamor to provide an equal playing field in the free market demands that private businesses should be regulated. Certain business models trigger distress on specific markets, increasing the disparity in income among producers. Hence, technological innovation should be coupled with the necessary government regulation to ensure equal opportunities among service providers in the market.
