dc.description.abstract | The rapid development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which is known as Industrial Revolution 4.0, nowadays has affected all aspects of human life including the educational aspect. In the effort to transform to education 4.0, it is important for teachers to also be able to incorporate the use of ICT into their teaching practice. Otherwise, it is possible that they might be replaced by the technology. Thus, this study aimed at investigating the EFL teachers’ attitude towards the integration of ICT in their teaching practice. This researched focused on the EFL teachers’ attitude in terms of their self-competence in, attitude on material development, and attitude on learning activity using ICT. The study employed a quantitative research method using a questionnaire to reveal the teachers’ attitude towards the use of ICT. There were 62 EFL teachers teaching in junior and senior high schools in Yogyakarta as the respondents in this research. The results of the study show that the EFL teachers have a good attitude towards the integration of ICT in their teaching practice. In terms of self-competence these EFL teachers are in the moderate level with the mean score 1.61 in terms of comfort in integrating ICT in their teaching practice. They are also in the moderate level in terms of ease in learning new technology and skills in using ICT with the mean scores 1.42 and 1.29 respectively. In terms of material development, these teachers reported that they are in the high level in terms of their attitude in developing their teaching materials using ICT with the mean score 2.2. Finally, in terms of learning activity, these EFL teachers reported that they are in the moderate level with the mean score 1.81 in terms of their attitude in applying ICT in learning activity in the class. | en_US |
