      Abstract
      Background: Hypertension is a condition that characterized by systolic blood pressure exceeding 140mmhg and diastolic more than 90mmhg. Hypertension is influenced by several factors, one of them is heredity. Someone who has a family history of hypertension has a risk of developing hypertension because of poor lifestyle habits include eating high sodium and fatty foods, alcohol, smoking, physical activity, and stress. Those lifestyle habits happen in student’s stage. Methods: This research is a descriptive research. The sample in this study was 86 people using total sampling technique. The data of this research were taken using instruments in the form of lifestyle questionnaires and perceived stress scale (PSS). The data analysis in this study used univariate analysis. Result: The data was found that student’s lifestyle that has a history of hypertension is risk category. Based on the lifestyle of the domain, it was found that the habit of consuming fatty foods and high sodium in the risk of category (84.9%), alcohol consumption habits in the of risk-less category (98.8%), smoking habits in the risk-less of category (96.5%), physical activity in the risk category of (93.0%), and stress in the risk category of (100%). Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it was found that the lifestyles of students who had a family history of hypertensive of risky category. It is expected that someone who has a family history of hypertension can change lifestyle habits into a healthy lifestyle.
