      Abstract
Background : Nociceptive low back pain is a non-neuronal pain in the lower back region and due to the activation of nociceptor. Peripheral Neuro Stimulation (PNS) is part of trans cranial magnetic stimulation using magnetic waves with diagnotic and therapeutic function. Physiotherapy is non-pharmacologic intervention in curative and rehabilitative treatment. Short wave diathermy is a type of physiotherapy using heat modulation (thermotherapy). Trans cutaneous electro nerve stimulation (TENS) is another type of physiotherapy with an electrical impulses (electrotherapy). It is impotant to determine the effectiveness each of them. Objective : to determine the effectiveness of PNS compared with physiotherapy (Short wave diathermy and TENS). Methods : a quasi experimental study with Before and After Control design. We investigated 98 nociceptive LBP subjects at Magelang Tidar Hospital during October - December 2017. The subjects were divided in to two groups, 47 subjects in intervention group (PNS) and 51 subjects in control group (Physiotherapy). Each subject had 8 times treatment. The decreassing pain rate in berfore and after treatment was assessed and campared using VAS. Result : Non-parametric Wilcoxon test shown an significant differences between before and after treatment, for intervention group were p 0.001, RR=0.234 and for control group were p 0.001, RR=0.980. Non-parametric Mann-Whitney test was used to compare the results of two groups and shown a significant differences with p 0.001, RR = 0.238, ARR=74%, RRR=76% and NNT = 1.34. Conclution : Peripheral Neuro Stimulation therapy has a significant reduction in VAS compared with physiotherapy on nociceptive LBP.
