      Abstract
      Background : Schizophrenia is a persistent brain disease that can lead to changes in psychotic behavior, difficulties in solving problems, and difficulties in processing information. Schizophrenia has an effect on the quality of life of patients who will have an impact on discomfort, can cause a physical illness and even death. The quality of life of schizophrenic patients is influenced by marital status, married individuals will get social support from their partners which causes an increase in the quality of life of these individuals. Objective : To find out whether there is a relationship between marital status and the quality of life of schizophrenic patients. Research Methods : This type of research is non-experimental with quantitative methods and cross sectional approaches. The sample in this study amounted to 55 people. The quality of life instruments in this study used Lehman Quality of Life Interview. Results : Based on the results of the analysis of marital status with the quality of life of schizophrenic patients using the Spearman Rho non-parametric comparison test obtained a significant value of 0.415 (p> 0.05). The value of r = -0,112 which shows a negative direction with the strength of a very weak relationship that has no relationship between marital status and the quality of life of schizophrenic patients. Conclusion : There was no correlation between marital status and quality of life for schizophrenic patients.
