Background: Dental and oral health disease is the highest disease complained by the people in Indonesia. The prevalence of active caries and the DMF-T index is reported high from year to year due to the lack of public awareness to maintain oral health as a result lack of oral and dental health education. Children aged 11- 12 years is the golden period of development, which has a good mindset, so that children at the age of 11-12 years should be given dental and oral health education. Flip Chart is one of the media that can help to improve the dental and oral health education for children. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Ngebel Gede II Sleman Yogyakarta because the students had never received counseling with Flip Chart media about dental and oral health, and almost all the students suffering from dental caries disease. Objective: This study aims to determine the influence of Flip Chart media on increasing dental and oral health knowledge to the 11-12 years old students in SD Negeri Ngebel Gede 2 Sleman Yogyakarta before and after dental education. Methods: This study is a pre-experimental research design with one group pretest-posttest design, held in SD Negeri Ngebel Gede 2 Sleman Yogyakarta with 32 samples. The research method using total random sampling. Result: The result was analyzed using Wilcoxon test, with p <0.05 ie 0.000, which means there was an increase in dental and oral health knowledge before and after dental and oral health education using Flip Chart media significantly. Conclusion: The dental and oral health education using Flip Chart influences the dental and oral health knowledge of student aged 11-12 years old in SD Negeri Ngebel Gede II Sleman Yogyakarta.
