      Abstract
Household appliances are currently dominated by the use of electronic equipment or equipment with semiconductor components, called types of non linear loads. The examples of current non linear loads uses are Computers, Energy Saving Lights, LED Lights, LED TVs and tube TVs. The use of non linear loads can cause harmonics in the electric power system. This research was conducted to determine the level of harmonic distortion caused by each household equipment. The value of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and Individual Harmonic Distortion (IHD) of each equipment has different values, depending on the semiconductor components used in each of these equipment. Based on the results of the research, it is known that each household equipment produces the highest harmonic value in the 3rd order. The way to reduce the negative impact of harmonics is to install a single tuned passive filter. The installation of a single tuned passive filter is based on the highest harmonic value (3rd order), so that the values of Resistance (R), Inductance (L), and Capacitance (C) are obtained for the filter.
