      Abstract
Background: Dengue virus is classified as Arthropod - Borne Virus, Flavivirus genus and Flaviviridae family is the cause of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Transmission of DHF is caused by the bite of Aedes mosquito, primarily Aedes Aegypti or Aedes Albopticus. Dengue fever is still a problem in Wirobrajan and Sumberagung Village. One of the factors that influence the incidence of DHF is people's behavior about the disease itself. There are some differences in behavioral characteristics of urban and rural community. Urban community is more likely to act individual and independently while the villagers have the habit to cooperate with each other. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between knowledge and the incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever in endemic areas of the city (Wirobrajan village) and villages (Desa Sumberagung). Method: The design of this study was non-experimental with analytic observational study using a cross sectional approach, with cluster sampling technique with a total sample of 777 respondents. Result: The result of the study found (p = 0.027) for the people in Sumberagung Village and (p = 0.031) for Wirobrajan Village, these numbers show that there is an influence of community behavior on the incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever in endemic areas of both City and Village. Conclusion: There is a correlation between community behavior and the incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever in endemic areas of the City and Village
