      Abstract
Background: In Yogyakarta Special Region Rikesdas results in 2013 in Sleman Regency, cesarean section number reached 21.4% and in Yogyakarta City cesarean section number reached 28.6% and with the above figures, Indonesia had a cesarean section rate exceeding the maximum limit determined by WHO. Objective: This research aims to determine what factors influence the success of induction in postdate pregnancy in Yogyakarta City Hospital in 2013-2016. Methods: This research using cross-sectional analytical study methods. The sample in this study was taken from medical records of patients who gave birth from January 2013 to December 2016. The samples were 82 samples and divided into two groups, namely vaginal delivery at postdate pregnancy and postdate caesarean section delivery with a sample size of 42 for vaginal delivery and number of samples 40 for delivery of cesarean section. Data were analyzed by chi-square test and logistic regression analysis. Result: The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between variable factors tested for the act of pervaginal labor through induction in postdate pregnancy. In the age factor, the success rate was 4.5 (95% CI 1,629-12,565) times higher in patients aged ≤30 compared with patients aged >30. In addition the number of parity 2-3 had a success rate of 4 (95% CI 1,546-10,621) times higher than the number of parity 1 & ≥4 and the number of Bishop scores ≥6 had a success rate of 22 (95% CI 4,693-104,127) times more high compared to the number of Bishop scores ≤5. The results of multivariate analysis showed that Bishop scores as the highest success factor with a success rate 20 times greater than other factors to be able to give birth by pervaginal labor through induction. (p = 0,000; OR = 20.405; 95% CI: 4,077-102,137). Conclusion: From the research above it can be concluded that maternal age, parity , and Bishop score are factors that influence the success of induction in pregnancy postdate.
