      Abstract
The study entitled The Attitude of the United States of America towards the political crisis in Venezuela 2012-2018 aims to find out what attitudes will be taken by the United States in addressing the political crisis that hit Venezuela in the 2012-2013 period. The United States often uses various ways to implement its foreign policy as an effort to achieve its national interests, one of the ways that is done is through intervention in countries that are considered to have weaker powers. This issue is interesting to study about the attitude that will be applied by the United States to a country that is currently experiencing internal conflict. To answer this question, the method used is a qualitative method. The results obtained from this study are the assessment of the United States through imposing economic penalties as the most frequently used in opposing the intended country so that what the United States wants, such as the spread of democracy, respect for human rights, and state security assistance, sanctions are sanctions exports, financial sanctions, travel sanctions and asset freezes against state-owned officials and companies.
