This study aims to determine the factors that influence farmers' decisions in choosing the cropping patterns of red rice farming, the level of income of red rice rice farming with intercropping and monoculture patterns and compare the feasibility of intercropping and monoculture rice farming in Balong Village, Girisubo Subdistrict, Gunungkidul District. The area sampling technique was purposively determined (purposive sampling) and determining the sample of farmers using the census, namely brown rice upland rice farmers with a monoculture pattern of 57 respondents and random sampling for intercropping cropping patterns of 30 respondents. Data were obtained using the interview method with questionnaire assistance. Data analyzed using logit analysis, income and feasibility. The results showed that age, duration of cultivation, income, level of counseling, and type of land affected farmers' decisions in determining the pattern of planting of red rice. Based on the feasibility analysis of R / C, land productivity, labor productivity and capital productivity, red rice paddy farming is feasible.
