      Abstract
      Wound care operations that are not in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) are at risk of surgical site infection in patients and the risk of bad also for nurse itself. The risk requires nurses to be obedient in action postoperative wound care in accordance with SOP. This research aims for knowing the implementation procedures postoperative wound care in the ward room General Hospital PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul. This research was quantitative with descriptive observational approach. Sample size in this research was 58 nurses. The sampling technique used total sampling. Data analysis used descriptive statistics. Questionnaires and checklist of SOP in General Hospital PKU Muhammadiyah in Bantul used for research instrument. The results showed 56 (96.6%) of nurse (n=58) had implemented postoperative wound care procedures in accordance with the SOP, while who were not in accordance with the SOP was 2 nurses (3.4 %) and the result from the preparation of tools and materials showed that all nurse (100%) had preparing tools and materials in accordance with the SOP, but there is 1 nurse used 1 tools and materials for 2 patient. Nurses at general hospital PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul already implemented postoperative wound care procedures in accordance with the SOP and all nurses has prepared a tool for the treatment of postoperative wounds correctly and appropriate with SOP. Further research is expected to take the data with the involvement of other people in order to avoid the nurse did not feel watched so that the bias can be avoided .
