      Abstract
      Diarrhea is a that often in Indonesia. One of the cause of diarrehea is infection in the digetive tract caused by bacteria Eschericia coli. Patchouli oil is a plant that has the potensial as an antibacterial agan because contains active subtance terpenoids. This research aims to know the efektivitas of antibacterial at Eschericia coli. The antibacterial test is carried out by the diffusion method on the concentrations of 50%, 60%, 70% and 80% has a diameter of inhibition zone on the 17,2mm; 17,95mm; 19,986mm; 21,1mm. 21, 1mm. The obtained results of the characteristic analysis of the compound component of patchouli oil using gas chromatography -mass spectrometer (GC-MS) has 13 components. Of the 13 components produced by Essential oil Patchouli there are 5, namely patho-alcohol (17.08%) and RT 14.991 minutes, Alpha.-Guaien (15.74%) and RT 12.816 minutes, Seychellene (13.18%) and RT 12.997 minutes, Alpha.-Patchoulene (11.95%) And RT 13.056 minutes, and Delta.-Guaiene (20.61%) 13.494 minutes.
