      Abstract
      Corticosteroids are often called life saving drug because in the use as antiinflammatory, corticosteroids serve as palliative therapy, which inhibits symptoms, while the cause of the disease persists. This eventually leads to widely used cortikosteroids not as per indication, dosage and duration of administration. This research aims to find out the overview of the use of corticosteroids for out patients in Sewon I Puskesmas Kabupaten Bantul period July – September 2015. This research is a descriptive non-experimental study using cross-sectional design. The Data of patients prescribed corticosteroids in Sewon I Bantul Puskesmas is done by retrospective method in July until September 2015. The samples in this study consisted of 346 patients who were found and used related references and journals. The results showed that patients who were boiling Otalgia 29.48%, Parotitis 34,98%, Otitis externna 17.35%, allergic 7.51%, cough 5.49%, and ISPA 0.57% prescribed corticosteroids. Results of the analysis showed that of 346 patients with a different diagnosis prescribed the most corticosteroids were dexamethasone tablets 97%, Betametason 2% ointment and Methylprednisolone tablets 1%.
