      Abstract
      Background: Coverage of breastfed infants up to the age of 6 months in Indonesia decreased in the last 6 years were influenced by the mother's behavior in providing food Complementary mother's milk (MP - ASI) early. Such behavior is influenced by the culture of Java with Java province as a province in the delivery of MP - ASI early. The purpose of this study was to determine Behavior description mother Cultured Java In Providing MP-ASI in Infants Age 0-6 Months Methods: The study was a descriptive study with cross - sectional. Samples in this study amounted to 57 respondents were selected through the total sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire Java cultured mother's behavior in the provision of complementary feeding in children aged 0-6 months were made by researchers. Data were analyzed by univariate analysis. Results: The level of Javanese cultural influences on behavior in the provision of maternal breast milk on a strong level (70.2%) of the total 57 respondents. Conclusions and Recommendations: Java Cultural powerful influence on the behavior of the mother in the provision MP - ASI. Mothers are expected to dig up the correct information related to the provision of complementary feeding in infants according to the condition and age. Researchers further subsequent researchers can conduct different studies on the same topic and the research is not only one ward alone. Researchers further can also pay more attention to other factors that can affect the variables studied
