      Abstract
Unmanned aerial vihicel (UAV) is an unmanned vehicel that can fly autonomously using an autopilot. The use of UAV for the other missions requires good stability and flight time. Solar powered planes generally have a large size so that the mobility to carry is low enough. In addition, the charging and discharge battery at the same time caused increased damage to the battery. Therefore this research is necessary to get the draft UAV and for improve mobility and maximize the battery life time. Modelling and simulation of the design using several software, that is Inventor 2016, Isis Proteus 8 and Arduino IDE. Inventor 2016software is used for modeling and simulation aircraft structures. While Isis Proteus 8 and Arduino IDE software is used for modelling, simulation and for programming automatic transfer sewitch (ATS). The solar powered plane UAV design and testing has length of the wing (wing span, WS), 158 cm, length of body (fuselage, FS) 94,5 cm and 1,624 kg weight. This plane can fly for ± 6 minutes at a altitude of 30 m with cruising speed of 12-17 m / s2.
