      Abstract
Road is a transportation infrastructure that is very important in connecting between one area and another. With the passage of time, the increase in traffic occurred very significantly which resulted in a decrease in road quality improvement. Visually, the Gombong-Puring road section, Gombong Subdistrict, Kebumen Regency, along 4 km, there are some damages and these certainly disturbs the comfort of road users, considering that this road connects several tourist areas. The purpose of this study was to determine the type and level of damage to the road using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) Method. From this study, the total PCI values were 44.9% and included in the fair classification. There were 6 types of damage, namely alligator cracks with a total number of damage 29 pieces (28.43%), edge cracks with a total number of damage 3 pieces (2.94%), longitudinal and transverse cracks with a total amount of damage 6 pieces (5.88%), pathole with total damage of 41 pieces (40.19%), wathering or raveling with total damage of 3 pieces (2.94%), and patching and utility cut patching with a total damage of 20 pieces (19.61%).
