      Abstract
Asphalt is an abundant natural resource existed in Indonesia. It is blackish or dark brown solid material. If it is heated, it will melt or become liquid. As the number of people in Indonesia increases rapidly, the economic condition in Indonesia gets worse and it increases the number of transportations. Therefore, the more durable road pavement is needed to accommodate the vehicle load. Hard and elastic with high softening point and adhesion capacity of binding material such as latex is needed. Latex is milky sap-like liquid, like the sap produced by most trees, that can be easily hardened if it is exposed in the atmosphere. It also has good adhesion capacity so that if it is mixed with aggregate, latex can be glued on aggregate like asphalt. Therefore, the writer used latex as additional material for the mixture of asphalt penetration 60/70. The sample testing was done using the Marshall method to know the influence of latex as the mixture of asphalt penetration 60/70 with the asphalt content of 5%. In this testing, the latex contents used here were 0%, 2%, 4%, and 6%. The findings showed that there was a decline in VIM, VMA, and MQ (Marshall Quotient). The VFA, flow, and Stability increased if it was compared to the sample without latex.
