      Abstract
      Road is a connecting line between one place to another place. As time passes, the road will experience a decrease in the quality of road marked by damage to the road layer. Damage to the road can cause discomfort and insecurity in driving. The road of Gombong – Puring is visually damaged so the purpose of this study is to analyze the pavement complexity on the road surface on the Gombong – Puring road, Kebumen Regency, Central Java Province uses the Pavement Conditional Index (PCI) method. Based on the results of data analysis and discussions that have been conducted, it can be concluded that the condition of the damage to the pavement of the Gombong – Puring road section has s total index value of 60,27 % which is included in the good category. There are 6 types of damage to the Gombong - Puring road section, with the type of damage that crack of the crocodile with total damage rate of 99 pieces with 35,61 % damage, cracked edges with a total damage rate of 1 piece with 0,36 % damage, cracks connecting with total levels damage to 1 piece with 0,36 % damage, longitudinal cracks with a total damage rate of 13 pieces with 4,68 % damage, patches with a total damage rate of 44 pieces with 15,83 % damage, holes with a total damage rate of 120 pieces with 43,17% damage.
