      Abstract
Telecommunications technology has always evolved every time from the beginning of the emergence of the first technology known as 1G in 1980 until now its development is increasingly rapid, this year 2019 telecommunications technology is using 4G technology that is quite sophisticated, to balance the sophistication it must have efficient telecommunications procedures so that more optimal. One way for a more optimal procedure in paging is to make modifications to the core network configuration that is regulated in the SGSN, from the beginning using a paging configuration to an adaptive paging configuration and prove whether it is more optimal by doing a comparison between the two configurations. The results of the research that have been obtained from PT Indosat Ooredoo are at SGSN BANJARMASIN 4 (SGBJM4) experiencing an increase in the percentage of the Paging Success Rate (PSR) which with an average percentage value of 97.60 % to 98.56 %, thus the percentage experiencing an increase in the percentage value 0,96 %. At SGSN BANJARMASIN 5 (SGBJM5) the percentage value of the average PSR increased from 98.40 % to 98.50%, thus the percentage experienced a percentage increase of 0.1 %. At SGSN PONTIANAK 1 (SGPTK1) the average percentage value of the PSR rose from 98.54 % to 98.58 %, thus the percentage experienced a percentage increase of 0.04 %. As for the RRC Paging Discard Ratio (PDR) when using the paging configuration the highest PDR value is 18.59% on November 5, 2018, while the lowest PDR value is 14.43 % on November 6 2018. After using the adaptive paging configuration the PDR value the highest is 2.13% on November 8, 2018 and the lowest PSR value is 2,51x10−7 % on November 9, 2018.
