      Abstract
In Indonesia the development of development has increased very rapidly, problems often occur at the time of development results, namely the vulnerability of buildings to earthquakes. Vulnerability is one of the most common problems in all buildings, both high-rise buildings and simple residential buildings. Many causes of building vulnerability occur, in practices in development not in accordance with the requirements, the development area is an area prone to earthquakes, and lack of debriefing / training in terms of development from the government to the community. The purpose of this study is to find out how much the vulnerability of non-engineered housing buildings in the Pajangan District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta. Field observations were carried out, observations of the stages of development carried out by workers, and questionnaires for workers at the place. The results of this study can later help the community and local government to gather information about the vulnerability of buildings in the area. From the research conducted, it is found that there are still many buildings that are vulnerable to earthquakes. Other problems that cause vulnerability to buildings in the area are the less than optimal development carried out by workers, as well as a lack of understanding of the practice of housing construction by workers. From the results of the questionnaire, the role of the government in debriefing / training in development practices is very lacking.
