      Abstract
Expansive clay soils are found in many areas of Indonesia, i.e. in Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. Expansive clay soil as a high swell and shrink behaviour. It will expands in the rainy season and shrink in the dry season. Due to weather and climate change that influence the characteristics of the soil, soil stabilization is required. This research use chemical stabilization using lime and rice husk ash. The aim of this study is to investigate the influence of water content and number of cycles given on stabilized soil using lime and rice husk ash. In this study the influence of weather and climate is simulated in the laboratory using wetting and drying cycle. Comparison of lime and rice husk ash used for stabilization is 1:1 with the amount of 17% of speciment total weight. Soil, lime and rice husk ash mixture mixed using three variations of moisture content i.e. ODM, OMC, and OWM. Curing duration for specimen are 7 days. The results show that variation in moisture content and wetting-drying cycle will increase the compressive strengh (qu) and secant modulus of elasticity (E50).
