      Abstract
Land use is an embodiment of the inner space about how land use is organized both naturally and planned. The land will develop follow the pattern that has been set in a certain period of time due to planning. Planning carried out without consideration will have a negative impact in the form of natural disasters. Changes in the function of land in the Yogyakarta region within a period of 4 years starting in 2012 to 2016 are dominated by shrinking rice fields that are converted into residential areas. This study will analyze the effect that will be caused from changes in land use to the river discharge produced. The method used in this study is to model the Gajah Wong River basin automatically based on the Elevation Data Model (DEM) using the application of Soil and Water Assessment (SWAT) with the same climate data input and soil type, but using two different land use data . The results obtained from this study indicate a change in simulation discharge generated by both land uses, simulation discharge using land use data in 2016 resulted in a discharge of 215.86 cms and simulation discharge using land use data resulting in a scenario resulting in a discharge of 218.64 cms, indicating that the depreciation of the infiltration area such as rice fields and gardens influences the river discharge produced.
