      Abstract
      This research aims to know mental readiness and behaviour of female alumni after graduating from the Islamic boarding school ( a case study at Al-Munawwir Krapyak Yogyakarta) This is a field research using qualitative approach. To obtain the data, observation, interview, and conclusion drawing were used as the data collection technique. The subject of the research was 5 female alumni of Al-Munawwir Islamic boarding school. The obtained data were analyzed using analytical descriptive data analysis. The findings of the research show that: (1) in the aspect of female alumni’ mental readiness after graduating from the Islamic boarding school (a case study at Al-Munawwir Krapyak Yogyakarta), it is found that there is a mental unreadiness faced by the alumni after graduating from the Islamic boarding school or when socializing in the community proven with the interview result of one respondent stating that it is very hard to be ready leading recitation due to her lack of knowledge. In addition, the respondents also argue that there are many community leaders who are more knowledgeable in terms of leadership. (2) in the aspect of behaviour, there is a behaviour change of female alumni when returning to their hometown proven with the interview result explaining their changed behaviour such as they rarely perform congregational prayer at home, read the holy Qur’an, and rarely perform their Monday and Thursday fasting.
