      Abstract
      The objectives of this research are to: 1) Identify the impact of gadget use on early childhood, 2) Identify the parents’ role in overcoming negative impact of gadget use on early childhood. This research used qualitative approach of descriptive qualitative research. The subject of the research were 10 families with children aged 0-6 years old living at the Regency of Mawija Sumberejo 1. The data was compiled through observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis was done throughout several phases such as data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion by compiling data based on the factual evidences as well as from the observation result. The result of the research indicated that: 1) there are two impacts of gadget use on early childhood, those were positive and negative impact. The positive impacts are children gaining various knowledge and understanding corresponds with their age range. Whilst, the negative impacts were children would tend to be mad when not given accessed to gadget for day long since they had been addicted to it, children would spend less time playing outside or socializing with the environment since they had been occupied by gadget. 2) The parents’ role was significantly required to overcome the negative impact of gadget use on early childhood in several methods such as supervising, guiding and controlling the use of gadget toward the more positive use.
