      Abstract
      This research aims at revealing the influence of social environment on the discipline level of 5 times prayer of the students of Islamic Education Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta batch 2017. The social environment is an environment that has a role on the individual behavior in doing the social interaction related to the closest environment such as family members, friends and the other social groups whose scope is wider namely schools and the entire society that has different traits and characteristics. The discipline of 5 times prayer is worship activity carried on based on the order and rule that are obliged to do and followed by self- capability to do it and the person should not avoid if he gets sanction whenever he does not carry on the order. This research used quantitative research with descriptive approach. It also used simple linear regression analysis technique. The subject of the research was 160 students of Islamic Education Study Program batch 2017 who were active in the lecture activity. This research took 43 samples or 25% of the student population. The simple regression analysis technique in this research used questionnaire data collection. From this research, there are 3 results. (1) The social environment condition in PAI UMY is stated as tending to be in medium category in understanding and appreciating the culture values and social norms when doing social interaction, i.e. 46%.(2) The discipline level of 5 times prayer of the students of Islamic Education Study Program batch 2017 is in medium category, i.e. 63%. (3) The third result of this research is to find out whether or not there is an influence of social environment towards the discipline level of 5 times prayer of the students of Islamic Education Study Program batch 2017, and it shows that there is a significance value of 0.000. Thus, the value of 0.000 < 0.05 states that there is a positive influence of Social Environment variable (X) on the variable of Discipline of 5 times prayer of the students of Islamic Education Study Program (Y).
